6X6 Art Project

6X6 Art Project

Each year during the Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival, community members of all ages and artistic abilities are invited to participate in the 6×6 Community Art Project by painting a bird on a 6 inch by 6 inch surface. Whether it’s on canvas, wood, or another frame of your choosing, your bird-themed art becomes part of a vibrant display during the festival.

Participants also have the option to donate their piece to the Art & Adventure Silent Auction, helping to raise funds in support of the festival. Free 6×6 canvas boards are typically available in the spring at the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center (formerly Islands and Ocean Visitor Center).

The 6×6 Project is now closed for this year. Thank you to everyone who contributed their creativity and time—make sure to check out your work during the festival!
