Teen Birder Program
For kids ages 12-18

The Teen Birder program is designed for youth ages 12 and up who are curious about birds, nature, and the outdoors. It’s a fantastic way for teens to explore their interests, learn new skills, and connect with the natural world during the Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival.
Teen Birder activities are tailored to be both fun and educational. From hands-on workshops like the Bird Wing Investigation to outdoor adventures like Kachemak Bay Kittiwake Observations, there’s something for every interest. Teens can also enjoy social events like bird-themed trivia nights and a video game competition. Many of these activities count toward fulfilling Junior Birder requirements, making it easy for teens to earn badges and prizes.
Parents, this is a great opportunity for your teen to engage with the community, develop a deeper appreciation for nature, and maybe even discover a lifelong passion for birding. Check out the full schedule of Teen Birder events and help your teen get involved in this unique festival experience!
